Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated September 7, 2026. These terms are a contract between you and Gloss Labs Cary ("Gloss Labs," "we," "us," or "our").

These terms cover booking and receiving a mobile car detail from us. Please read them - by booking, checking the box that you agree, saving a card, or letting us detail your vehicle, you accept these terms.

1. Agreeing to these terms 2. The service 3. Scheduling & arrival 4. Pricing & estimates 5. Payment 6. Cancellations & no-shows 7. Gloss Members membership 8. Text messages 9. Your vehicle & belongings 10. Damage & problems 11. If you're not happy 12. Limitation of liability 13. Photos 14. Privacy 15. Governing law & disputes 16. Changes 17. Contact

1. Agreeing to these terms

When you book a detail, tap to agree, save a card on file, or hand us your vehicle to work on, you are agreeing to these terms on your own behalf and on behalf of anyone who owns or is responsible for the vehicle. If you are booking for someone else's vehicle, you confirm you are allowed to do so. Agreeing electronically - by tapping a button or checking a box - has the same effect as a signature on paper.

2. The service

We are a mobile detailing business: we come to the address you give us and detail your vehicle there, or you may drop it off with us by arrangement. We bring our own equipment and supplies. So we can work, the location needs to be one where we can safely park and reach the vehicle. Most jobs need an outdoor water spigot and a standard power outlet within reach; if a location has neither, tell us when you book so we can plan (we can sometimes bring water, or arrange a drop-off). What each service includes and the vehicle sizes we price are shown on our site at the time you book.

3. Scheduling & arrival

We book jobs into arrival windows rather than exact times, because travel and the car ahead of yours vary. We will text you before we arrive. Please make sure the vehicle is reachable and unlocked (or the keys are available) at the start of your window, with the spots around it clear. Heavy rain, snow, or unsafe conditions can force us to reschedule; if that happens we will contact you and move you to the next open window at no charge. If we cannot reach the vehicle, cannot access water or power you told us would be there, or the vehicle is not available at your window, we may treat it as a late cancellation or no-show (Section 6).

4. Pricing & estimates

Prices depend on the service and the size of the vehicle, and are shown before you book. Those prices assume a vehicle in ordinary condition. Excessive soiling - heavy pet hair, mold, biohazards, deep stains, sand, construction debris, smoke odor, or similar - takes longer and may require a higher price or an add-on. If we find a vehicle needs more than the booked service, we will tell you the added price and get your OK before doing that work; you can approve it, decline it, or reschedule. Any add-ons you approve on site are added to your total.

5. Payment

You are charged only after the detail is finished. You may keep a card on file, which we store securely through our payment processor (Stripe) - we never see or keep your full card number. By saving a card, you authorize us to charge it for the completed detail, any add-ons you approved, any tip you add, and any cancellation, no-show, or membership charge described in these terms. We also accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle - tell the detailer on site. If a charge is declined, you remain responsible for the amount owed, and we may retry the card or send you a secure payment link. Prices are in U.S. dollars.

6. Cancellations & no-shows

Plans change - just give us notice. You can reschedule or cancel any time from your customer portal or by contacting us. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your arrival window, a late-cancellation fee of $20 applies. If the vehicle is not available and reachable during your window, or no one gives us access, that is a no-show and a fee of $40 applies. These fees cover the time and the slot we held for you and turned away for others. If you saved a card, you authorize us to charge these fees to it.

7. Gloss Members membership

Gloss Members is an optional monthly membership. It costs $30 per month and, unless we tell you otherwise at signup, each month's fee becomes credit toward your details, and every member detail includes the extras described on our membership page.

Automatic renewal. The membership renews automatically each month and your card on file is charged the monthly fee each month until you cancel. There is no long-term contract - it is month to month. You can cancel any time from your customer portal or by contacting us at (984) 208-2342 or caryglosslabs@gmail.com; cancellation stops future monthly charges. Fees already charged and credit already issued are handled as described on the membership page. If we change the monthly fee or what the membership includes, we will tell you in advance, and the change applies only going forward. Store credit is for details with us and has no cash value.

8. Text messages

We use text messages to run your appointments. When you give us your mobile number and book, you agree we may text you about your bookings - confirmations, reminders, "on the way" and "all done" messages, receipts, and questions about a job. These are part of the service. Marketing texts (offers, come-back reminders) are sent only if you opt in, and you can stop them any time by replying STOP; reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Replying STOP opts you out of marketing texts; we may still send you messages you need about a booking you have with us.

9. Your vehicle & belongings

Please remove cash, electronics, jewelry, firearms, medication, important documents, and anything valuable or fragile from the vehicle before we start. We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle, including items lost, damaged, or that get in the way of the work. Older vehicles and worn interiors can have pre-existing conditions - fading, cracking, prior stains, loose trim, water leaks, rust, chips, and swirl marks - that a detail can reveal but did not cause, and that may not fully come out. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or wear, or for conditions that make a result impossible (for example, a stain that has set permanently). Tell us about any known issue - a leak, loose part, aftermarket film or wrap, sensitive finish - before we begin.

10. Damage & problems

We treat your vehicle with care and photograph it before and after. If you believe we caused damage, tell us before we leave, or within 48 hours of the detail, with photos, so we can look into it while the facts are fresh - claims made after that are very hard to verify and may not be honored. We will review the before-and-after photos and work with you in good faith. If we are responsible, we will do our best to make it right - a repair, a re-clean, or a refund of up to the amount you paid, at our reasonable option. To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, that good-faith remedy is your sole and exclusive remedy for damage, and we are not liable for anything beyond it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under North Carolina law.

11. If you're not happy

We do not ask you to pay until the detail is done and you have seen it. If something was missed, tell the detailer before they leave and they will take care of it, or contact us within 48 hours and we will come back to correct the specific issue at no charge. This re-service covers the original work, not new dirt or use after we left.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total responsibility to you for any claim connected to a detail is limited to the amount you paid for that detail. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses - lost time, lost use of the vehicle, or the like. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited under the law of North Carolina, and nothing here is meant to waive rights you have under North Carolina consumer-protection law.

13. Photos

We photograph our work, and we may show before-and-after photos of the results on our website, social media, and in marketing. We remove license plates and obvious identifying details, and we do not publish your name, address, or contact information with a photo. If you would rather we not use photos of your vehicle, just tell us and we will keep them internal.

14. Privacy

How we handle your phone number, address, card on file, and photos is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

15. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Let's try to sort out any problem directly first - most issues are fixed with a quick call or text to (984) 208-2342. If we can't resolve it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or a detail will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, conducted by a recognized arbitration service under its consumer rules, in or near Cary, NC; judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. You and we each waive any right to a jury trial and to bring or join a class action. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. If binding arbitration or the class-action waiver is found unenforceable, that part is severed and any remaining dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you and we consent to venue there.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our business changes. The current version always lives at this page, with the "last updated" date at the top. Changes apply to bookings made after they are posted; booking again after a change means you accept the updated terms.
